Windows XP is the 5th major release of Microsoft's Windows operating system. The OS went through three major service packs. According to W3C, it was the most popular OS used on the Internet from 2003 to 2011.
It is the most successful OS in the Windows series. It's support was stopped only in 8th of April 2014, more than 12 years after the start. Even now this is the most usable system in the world after Windows 7.

Music
The Windows Welcome music (also known as the title music) plays on the final stage of installing - in the Out-of-box experience program. Many sources credit Brian Eno as the composer of this tune, however this information is not confirmed.
Also Microsoft ditched the long staple MIDI tune, Trip Through the Grand Canyon, for Windows XP and supplied three new songs with the operating system. Why they choose to stick with the MIDI format when digital music was becoming standard around 2001 is unknown. Maybe because MIDI is less-sized then digital files?

Game Rip
The WMA file is located at C:\Windows\system32\oobe\images folder. The type-1 MIDI files are located in the C:\Windows\Media folder. This rip also includes the various WAV sound effect files from the various default Windows XP programs. The MIDI songs were recorded with Winamp's MIDI plugin v3.53 using the DirectMusic Microsoft Synthesizer.
