Underground BGM was originally composed by Koji Kondo for the Underworld music in Super Mario Bros. (NES). Due to the popularity of the franchise, the music has been rearranged and remixed for many different games.

The title comes from the Famicom 20th Anniversary Original Sound Tracks Vol.1 album; BGM stands for "background music".
