Audio Devices sections + Audio Setup pages
The following games have an option to adjust the filter (or similar if noted). They should mention it in their Audio Devices section, and show the manual or screen that documents it (if any!) on Audio Setup. See also Magic Voice#Games.
- Beach-Head II (C64) - sound effects only, disk version only (purposely disabled on tape), manual
- Deceptor (C64) - songs 2–6 and 11 in the rip (probably not 15 like I told HVSC...), setup screen
- F1 GP Circuits (C64) - engine sound effect only, before title screen
- Havoc (C64) - before game
- Insects in Space (C64) - press +/-, unknown if documented
- International 3D Tennis (C64) - crowd sound effect only, "Crowd Control" menu
- L.E.D. Storm (C64) - press +/-, unknown if documented
- Madness (C64) - main menu
- MicroProse Soccer (C64) - press +/-, manual
- Ramparts (C64) - sound effects only, before title screen
- Quadrant (C64) - two different title songs, one with samples, one without
- Soul Crystal (C64) - in-game
- Terra Cresta (C64) - unknown if coded in first place; according to arranger, it is, but unused
- Times of Lore (C64) - unused
Huge edit
Recently, there's been a rather huge edit with a not so huge explanation. Okay, probably wouldn't have fit the summary field. I'd still like to reply and allow replies, so, a talk section.
- The type has to stay "Chip". It affects the category, and there's no Category:PSG; only a Category:Chip (with 32 other entries).
- I love "Variable Wave"! Kudos! So nice, short, correct, and probably inviting to see details below.
- After googling various sources (best one), I am not logically convinced that there's any regularity in 8580 chips supporting samples out-of-the-box. The B in 8580B also does not stand for a revision (that's what the digit after the R stands for), but more for a "variation" (see MOS Technology). In fact, I could only google two 8580B chips ([1][2]), both from December 1986, which is before most other 8580 chips.
- Maybe I can move part of the examples to SID - Recording Guide (which I better update soon, a bit old now and at least one link broken...).
- VICE does not use reSIDfp anymore (they actually chose to use reSID).
