Queen was an English rock band that formed in 1970 in London, UK. They consisted of Freddie Mercury (vocals, piano), Brian May (guitar), Roger Taylor (drums), and John Deacon (bass). The group disbanded in 1991, when Mercury died, but continued to perform with guest vocalists like George Michaels, Paul Rogers, and Adam Lambert.

Queen has released 48 singles, 14 studio albums, 5 live albums, and 1 soundtrack. Most of their albums have gone platinum and almost all of them went gold. Their music style ranged from arena rock, jazz, blues, disco, hard rock and soft rock. Queen was very popular in their native UK, but also world wide in countries like the USA, Japan, Brazil, and Australia.

Queen's more popular songs include Bohemian Rhapsody, Somebody to Love, We Will Rock You, We Are the Champions, Another One Bites the Dust, Killer Queen, Fat Bottomed Girls, and Under Pressure.

Audio Development

Guitar

Brian May used the Red Special; a custom-made guitar by him and his father. May still uses the guitar to this day.

Keyboard

In the song I'm Going Slightly Mad, Queen used the Ooh/Ahh patch from a Korg M1.
