Shahid Ahmad is a British composer and sound designer and was the main sound designer at B.I.T.S. while they were creating SNES games. He started developing his own video games in 1982 at PSI Software Designers. Shahid made a lot of money from these games. He left PSI to work for B.I.T.S. in 1992. He stayed there until 1997 as a producer and sound designer. Later in 1997, he worked as a Producer at Virgin Interactive Entertainment. Next year, he worked for Hasbro Interactive as an executive producer. In 2001, he worked for START! Games as the managing director. In December 2005, Shahid worked for Sony Computer Entertainment Europe as a technical account manager and eventually was promoted to senior account manager. While Shahid no longer composes video game music, he still works for SCEE to this day.

Music Development

Game Boy/Game Gear

Shahid created MIDI files which were converted to his sound driver.

Genesis

Shahid created MIDI files and converted them to his sound engine.

SNES

Shahid used Notator on the Atari ST for his SNES music. For the source of his SNES instruments, he said, "As for the instruments, I'm pretty sure I sampled them into Soundforge from edited patches on an M3R, GR-50 and other synths, but I couldn't be 100% certain."

Game Boy Advance

For Mission: Impossible - Operation Surma, Shahid used Fasttracker II and converted his XM files for playback with Engine Software's sound driver by Jan-Lieuwe Koopmans.
