Yoichi Yamazaki is a Japanese composer, arranger, and keyboardist. He was born in Chiba Prefecture, Japan. At age three, he started receiving piano lessons. In middle school, he became fascinated with jazz, and in high school, he became a fan of American pop music, specifically that of the 70s. He started playing in a band while he was in college. After he graduated Sophia University with a degree in English, he played on tour with musicians such as Naoyuki Fujii (formerly of the band Checkers) and Darek Jackson's Motherland tour. Since 1989, he has been touring with Miho Nakayama during the Miho Nakayama Concert Tour.
In the 1990s, Koei hired Yamazaki to compose the music to their horseracing simulation game Winning Run, which appears to be his only credit in a video game.
