World Games is a sports video game developed by Epyx for the Commodore 64 in 1986. Versions for the Apple IIGS, Amstrad CPC, ZX Spectrum, Sega Master System and other contemporary systems were also released. The NES version was released by Milton Bradley, and ported by Software Creations on behalf of producer Rare. A Virtual Console version was released in Europe on April 25, 2008.

The game was a continuation in the Epyx sports line that previously released extremely successful titles such as Summer Games and Winter Games.

Though most believe the game was ported by Rare themselves, it was actually ported by Software Creations, the same company responsible for the appalling Sky Shark (NES).

Music

The soundtrack was converted by David Wise from the C64 version who was famous of R.C. Pro Am at a time, and later of Donkey Kong Country. He did a good job writing the music in assembly, which was converted to Stephen Ruddy's sound driver.

Credits

(Verification from composer, sound engine comparison. Game lacks credits.)

Wise has taken credit for arranging the soundtrack, like most other NES games Rare had ever produced or developed. Oddly enough, this game doesn't have credits, something that is early for a game developed by Software Creations. Since most Rare games at the time didn't have credits, it's possible Rare restricted the developers from putting their names in it, though the developer's name can be seen on the ROM text. We have contacted Stephen Ruddy, who had programmed the sound driver for the NES version.
