Toshiyuki Kakuta, more commonly know by his main alias L.E.D., is one of the main composers for Konami's Bemani line of arcade rhythm games. He originally composed almost exclusively for the console versions of beatmania and beatmania IIDX titles, but began working on the arcade releases when he replaced Tatsuya Shimizu as a sound director for the IIDX series in beatmania IIDX 14 GOLD (ARC). He then became head sound director for the series in beatmania IIDX 18 Resort Anthem (ARC), replacing Yoshitaka Nishimura, and continues to hold the position of head sound director alongside Naoyuki Sato. Since becoming head sound director for IIDX, he has also composed a number of songs for most of the other Bemani games as well.
He is one of the founders of Konami's in-house BEMANI record label, beatnation records, along with Takayuki Ishikawa, Yoshitaka Nishimura and Tatsuya Shimizu. His choice as an addition to the label in its revival in 2014 was Shohei Uno (aka RoughSketch).
