Toshikazu Tanaka is a Japanese composer who started working for SNK in 1987. He is often credited, not only as a composer, but a sound programmer, because he programmed the SNK's NES sound engine. He also worked for Atlus from the mid-90s. Later he founded his own audio company, Studio Aqua in 2000, but continues to compose music for many SNK Playmore games and Noise Factory games.
Some of Tanaka's favorite artists include Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Van Halen, Deep Purple, and Lee Ritenour.
Tanaka currently lives in Kyoto.
Music Development
NES
Tanaka programmed a sound driver, that was used in almost all NES games, except Mechanized Attack, which uses Satoru Okada's sound driver.
GBA
For Metal Slug Advance, Toshikazu created MIDI files, which was converted for playback with Nintendo's MP2K sound driver.
