Music
Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends features pleasant arrangements of the TV show's many iconic themes, originally composed by Mike O'Donnell and William "Junior" Campbell. Arranged by Software Creations' Tim and Geoff Follin, their versions of the songs are more laid-back compared to the rocking fare they are best known for. Their typical good work shines through regardless, with the adaptations ranging from the faithful rendition of the classic theme tune to the more experimental Jigsaw Puzzle, a rendition of the Viaduct theme from the original soundtrack.
This soundtrack is one of several collaborations between Tim and Geoff in which Tim's main contribution was the title theme. In his interview with the Legacy Music Hour, Tim also identifies The Jigsaw Puzzle theme as an example of a Geoff arrangement.
According to Tim Follin and other composers who used the same driver, the music was written in assembly language using hexadecimal numbers to define note pitch, length, and all other effects.
