Terminal Velocity (DOS)

Terminal Velocity is one of the first games published by Apogee since they started using the name 3D Realms. The game is a 3D dogfighter that allows the typical flying combat out in the open, but as a twist, you can also take the battle underground and engage the enemy in subterranean tunnels. Each level features several objectives and an ending boss to destroy. You can get multiple power ups including an afterburner and several weapons like lasers, missiles, and mines.
To add to the fun factor, Terminal Velocity was network playable so up to 8 players could dogfight at once. Terminal Reality later published two games in a spiritual successor series for Windows under Microsoft: Fury3 and Hellbender.

Music
The development team opted for MOD music instead of the more common AdLib of the time. This worked out well in their favor because the music has a much crisper sound than those from MIDI soundtracks. The music itself has a wonderful techno sound that really fits with the game's theme.
