Tatsuya Uemura was born on June 23, 1960. He graduated Hyogo Prefectural Naruo Senior High School in 1979. He attended Doshisha University in 1983.

Around 1985, he started working for Toaplan. He not only did sound design, but also did game design and programming. During the development of Performan, he was involved in a motorcycle accident, so Masahiro Yuge filled in for him during his absence. His last known game was in 1992, so he probably stopped his work in the video game industry around that time.

Tatsuya currently lives in Yokohama-shi, Kanagawa, Japan and plays in a band as a guitarist.
