Takane Ohkubo is a Japanese composer and sound designer. He is known for his work with Namco, Tomcat System, as well as his own company Beatmaniac. He is also the brother of the late game developer Ryoichi Ohkubo. Takane initially started at Namco around 1988, his first work being a graphic designer for the game Genpei Toumaden (ARC). He later worked on the music to Chouzetsu Rinjin Bravoman, in which the character Benjamin Ohkubo Hikozaemon was modeled after his likeness. Around 1989, he moved with his brother to Tomcat System, who would still occasionally work with Namco. He also worked with Norio Nakagata on Zombie Nation both as a composer and planner. In 1993, Ohkubo founded his own music business, Beatmaniac, and continued to score music for various video games.
