Spirit of the Night is another one of the beautiful but sad songs from Secret of Mana. The tune is played several times in the game during moving moments. It's first heard when the elder of Potos village recounts how he found the boy and raised him. It's also played when the sprite talks to his grandpa and is told about what happened to their kind. You hear it when you find the vulnerable baby dragon Flammie, at Northtown Ruins when Phanna says she's with Dyluck, when you talk to a possessed Dyluck after killing Doom Wall, when Dryad gives you its powers after failing to stop the Empire, when you learn that the destroyed Mana Tree is the boy's mother, and finally, it's briefly played when you're trying to save Dyluck for the last time.

This song is track 17 on the official soundtrack.
