Sonic the Hedgeghog is an official port-demake (being an 8-bit port) for the Sega Master System and Game Gear consoles in a form that changes levels and music, many aspects were changed to fit the Sega Master System.

This port of the home console underwent more unusual changes such as changes in the gameplay, appearance of the screen, higher quality textures compared to the Game Gear version, levels were removed being replaced by others and its music is cut due to the fact that some tracks were not complete.
