Shinobu Amayake is a Japanese composer and sound designer.

Shinobu attended the music department of the Doshisha Women's University. While she was in college, she discovered jazz music and became involved in live performances. After she graduated university, she started working for Nintendo in April 1990, primarily working on the NES and SNES. She is perhaps best known for composing the music to Stunt Race FX. In Nintendo's entrance examinations, the students were given the task of "looking at a picture and within 30 minutes, compose a piece of music that fits the image and make a musical score." Amayake was immediately able to come up with an idea after seeing the picture for the assignment. In addition to composition, Amayake also was a musical score editor for titles such as New Super Mario Bros. Wii, The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, and Tomodachi Collection.

In June 1994, Amayake left Nintendo, and in 2000, she started working for Yamaha Corporation. In 2006, she started her own freelance music business, AMK Music. Through her music business, she scored the music to a couple of Nintendo DS games.

She currently runs her own freelance music business AMK, is a professional piano player, and continues to play live venues. Amayake currently resides in New York.

According to Shinobu, she entered music in assembly on a computer, which was converted to Akito Nakatsuka's sound driver since he was her boss.
