Title Origin Official

Rita Sateiya plays when the player is wandering around the overworld of Rita Sateiya. The song was composed by Kenji Kawai, and arranged by various audio staff of the game developers.

Title

The song title comes from the Samsara Naga 1&2 Soundtracks album and is originally written in Japanese. The Japanese text is リタ・サテイヤ (Rita Sateiya). The unofficial English translation ROM calls it Rta Sathya.

Composition

The song begins with the alternating chord progressions of E♭ minor and C minor, with the two square channels playing in unison. The second square channel is detuned to gives a "chorus" sound. At 0:09 after repeating the riff with the chorus square channels, the first square channel takes on the lead, while the second square wave takes on a backing melody of its own, mirroring what is heard at the beginning, but an octave lower. The progression of chords is still kept the same before alternating with B and D♭ at 0:21. At 0:32, the chord progression changes to B D♭ E♭m, and D♭. This repeats three times, with each loop sounding similar to the last, except the final time where the lead holds a high D♭. At 0:53, the final part of the song plays, with a Cm and B♭m the first two times, ending with a BΔ7 and D♭ the last two times. The song then loops from the beginning.
