Paavo Härkönen is a musician and graphic artist. He was born in Finland and began composing music at age 10. He made his professional debut with the soundtrack to Dransik (W32) (now Ashen Empires (W32)) with Asylumsoft. Later, Härkönen worked for Universomo a division of THQ.

Härkönen's influences include heavy metal, old adventure games, and movies.

Since 2003, Härkönen has played in the metal band The Zombi.

Music Composition

I started on the Amiga using an old software synthesizer called Sonix. Pretty soon I switched to a PC and started using tracker programs (Scream Tracker, Impulse Tracker and ModPlug Tracker) and a few years later I familiarized myself with MIDI. I studied digital sound and commercial music at Pirkanmaa Polytechnic during 2003-2009, and worked as a sound designer at mobile game studio Universomo during 2006-2010. During the years at Universomo, I also gathered a lot of experience on making sound effects.

These days I'm using Cubase 4 with M-Audio Keystation Pro 88 and various plugins. I've composed music of many genres, ranging all they way from dance music to heavy metal and from jazz to orchestral pieces.
