Openin' the Gate was composed by Bobby Prince for the game Duke Nukem II (DOS). The song was composed using Sequencer Plus Gold in MIDI format and then converted to an IMF file to be played on the OPL2 chip. The song is played and the end of each mission when your score is displayed. Players usually only hear the first couple seconds of the song, as the game automatically takes you to the next mission after displaying your score.

This song's internal title is "opngatea". The official title was verified by Bobby Prince.
