Mortal Kombat in Japanese (モータルコンバット - Mōtarukonbatto) is a port of the arcade version in short is a very faithful and nostalgic version that had been released on Super Nintendo Entertainment System, licensed by Midway Games, ported by Sculptured Software and published by Acclaim Entertainment in America, Europe-Oceania and Japan, Playtronic Industrial in Brazil in 1993.
This port is the most faithful to the arcade version but had serious technical limitations as the graphic section that was only 256x224 as maximum resolution, the textures were lowered, more animations were included compared to the Sega Genesis version that were static but higher resolution, more tracks were included to the music that was SPC quality.
This port was the most recognized receiving many very positive reviews and is the most purchased although it does not have the speed that had the Genesis version but it remains as a good port to play not like the Game Boy that does not have much to contribute as playable.
It was very complete but included many nice and interesting technical details that made it the most ideal to play but both consoles were very good ported games that would be released more for the home consoles of the time.
Nintendo censored a lot this adaptation because it was too graphic for its console and did not allow these types of games like this, but this does not end here if it did not conclude to the creation of the associations of classification of games like the ESRB.

This faithful adaptation was made by the great Dan Forden who did the nostalgic music, voices and very important effects characteristic of the original game.
All the tracks from the arcade version were included and it is not known if the last 3 remaining tracks are from the game or are additional but they are included.
This game has the best melodies of all the existing versions but the only negative is that they have little volume to listen on the SNES due to a compression to enter the cartridge suffered this technical change.

The credits are displayed after the game has been beaten.
These recordings were made by GatoVerde95 using SNESX9 to dump it with Cheat Engine, VLC media player and foobar2000 to convert SPC formats to FLAC and then to OGG (Vorbis). As additional tool Make List was used to encode the recordings in list mode.

Audio Devices
Sony SPC700 and S-DSP to synthesize the music at almost semi-CD quality but with the difference that it uses spectrograms to reproduce the melody, thus achieving that if the game wants it to repeat the same track it can indefinitely (the Genesis can but it is different).
This game uses the console's built-in S-SMP chip.
