Monopoly Deluxe (C64)
Monopoly Deluxe is an upgraded version of the 1985 Monopoly game originally developed by Leisure Genius for the Commodore 64. The game faithfully recreates the rules of the board game and allows six players (human or computer) to compete against each other to make as much money as possible dealing with houses and hotels on famous streets of London. The winner emerges in the standard game setting when all their competitors lose all their money and become bankrupt. Alternatively a short game option can be chosen where the duration in hours and minutes is chosen; when time runs out the richest player becomes the winner.
The whole board is shown at the top of the screen at an elevated angle with a close up of the squares the current player is on below. The options to allow you to play the game sit above the board and can be selected with the joystick or keyboard.

Unlike the 1985 C64 original of Monopoly, Steve Barrett created five new themes for the game in order to make it catchy, but this didn't stop it from being only five tracks long, and there are four short jingles, but only one long theme is on the game's title screen. He used Ariston.
