Mississippi Satsujin Jiken is a text adventure game released by Jaleco in 1987. The player controls a Sherlock Holmes-esque detective named Charles Foxworth, along with his servant Regis. While traveling on a boat from St. Louis to New Orleans, the two sleuths find a dead body. So now it's up to them to solve the mystery before the boat reaches New Orleans.
Mississippi consists of ten short musical tracks. Each comes from the Commodore 64 version, save for the Godwin's theme since he doesn't appear in this port. An additional track was also added, Title, which wasn't present in any other versions. The arrangements are identical to those found in the Famicom version, suggesting they were arranged by the same person, most likely a staff member of TOSE. However, the MSX2 version has not yet been confirmed to have been developed by them, and it's possible the MSX2 version's arrangements were done first. It is most likely that the music was entered in assembly, as it was the standard of making music for computers at the time.
