Michael Jackson's Moonwalker is a Sega Master System action platformer developed by Arc. and published by Sega. Based on the titular 1988 film Michael Jackson's Moonwalker and starring world famous pop music artist Michael Jackson, it was first released in August 1990 as one of the first big name titles on the system.
Moonwalker, along with its eponymous arcade counterpart, is notable for being one of the first uses of direct celebrity endorsements in video game production, and marks the beginning of Jackson's long and storied collaboration with Sega.
It is a port with various sprites and movement cuts, but the only stages that were changed were Streets for a Parking Lot, Woods for Trees and The Enemy Hideout as a Red Stage due to the limitation of the Sega Master System.
The game is based on the Smooth Criminal segment of the film Michael Jackson's Moonwalker, following Jackson in suit and fedora through stages based on his different music videos as he rescues children from the drug dealer Mr. Big.

Music
The game's music was composed by Takayuki Nakamura, and was one of his first games. Most of the songs are 8-bit renditions of popular Jackson tunes including Smooth Criminal, Beat It, and Another Part of Me. While Nakamura's arrangements are pretty spot on, the limited audio hardware of the Master System makes them sound less-than-desirable. Fortunately, this would later be fixed in the Genesis version where Hiroshi Kubota would be able to take advantage of the much superior audio hardware. Nakamura's boss music was also used in the Genesis version.
Nakamura wrote the music in assembly macros. It is also likely that due to Kubota's situation with the Genesis version, Nakamura had to learn the music by ear.
