Manaka Kataoka (née Tominaga) is a Japanese composer and sound designer. She started working for Nintendo in 2007, and is a part of the Production Department of Nintendo's Information Development Division. She started at Nintendo working on the soundtrack to Wii Fit, in which her music was primarily piano-based. While she has only worked on a handful of games, she has worked on Nintendo's successful series and games such as Animal Crossing and The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks. She also composed The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, in which she wrote the main theme as well as many other songs for the game. She also scored the game's sequel, Tears of the Kingdom. She has also worked alongside many other Nintendo composers such as Atsuko Asahi and Yasuaki Iwata.
