Menu - Super Trolley

Menu is a lighthearted song in most versions of Super Trolley.
None of the ports have audio credits, but all drivers are by Jason Brooke, the co-director of the developer's sister company Musicon Design. CPC-POWER therefore already claims he scored the CPC version, HVSC guesses the same for the C64 version (hence the question mark behind his name in the SID rip), and both songs match his style. It still should be confirmed with Jason Brooke himself, and also whether it has an official title.

The extremely buggy and apparently unfinished C64 program does not use Menu at all. Worse even, as soon as it is loaded, it corrupts the backing from 0:09.10 onwards. In-Game takes its place.
Judging from binary comparisons, this arrangement was ported from the CPC one. The percussion is completely gone, but the other three instruments have been upgraded to pulse waves with different modulations. Like all other songs in Jason Brooke's C64 driver, it is erroneously tuned at 424 Hz (thus closer to E major) and sounds the same on every SID chip.
To record two loops plus 10 seconds, the game was modified to leave Menu intact and play it instead of In-Game, all on a real C64C PAL with an 8580 R5 4091. In the rip labeled Super Trolley, it is track 2.

Initially, the Spectrum game was released with only a loudspeaker arrangement. Later, it came with an additional AY-3-8912 arrangement. Which one plays depends on whether 128 KB of RAM are available.
The loudspeaker arrangement uses a little more percussion and two pulse waves. It pauses while you touch the keyboard or joystick, stops when you define keys, and restarts afterwards—unless you start the actual game, in which case all music stops and never plays again.
Judging from binary comparisons, the AY-3-8912 arrangement was ported from the CPC one. Unlike the others, it restarts after the game aborts. It is also output to the Fuller Box and 3-Channel Sound Unit, although they are redundant with a ZX Spectrum 128K.
To record two loops plus 10 seconds, the game was run in Fuse 1.6.0 with:
- Select Machine Spectrum 128K. In the rip, it is track 3.
- Select Machine Spectrum 48K. In the rip, it is track 1.

Once the CPC game finishes loading, Menu starts and continues while you define keys. Once you start playing, all music stops and never plays again. Unlike the above platforms, the CPC is in stereo.
For some reason, songs and sound effects are in separate drivers which must not be used together. Unfortunately, that's exactly what the game programmer does, hence Menu sounds utterly choppy.
To record two loops plus 10 seconds, the game was run in WinAPE Version 2.0 Beta 2:
- as is.
- with the sound effects driver modified (disabled) so the music plays as intended. In the rip, it is track 2.
