kode54's MIDI Decoder is a component for foobar2000 that supports MIDI playback along with several other MIDI-like formats. It comes with several MIDI output plugins including Emu de MIDI, BASSMIDI (which supports custom sound fonts), Super MUNT GM (a Roland MT-32 emulator, ROMs not included), adlmidi, fmmidi, and oplmidi.
The following formats are supported:
EMIDI, HMI, HMP, KAR, LDS, MDS, MIDI, MIDS, RMI, XMI
Also MIDI Decoder can convert all supported formats to MIDI - just right click on the song, choose Utilities, then Convert to General MIDI. MIDI file will be created in the same folder with the song.
Note: To get proper sounding of General MIDI music, you need to use GM-compatible SoundFont, SCC1.sf2 for example.
