QuickTime MIDI is the music format supported by QuickTime 2.0 and higher. Though the extension name implies a MIDI format, the files are quite different in structure from a MIDI file. The music was played with a built-in QuickTime sound synthesis engine using a limited set of instrument sounds licensed from Roland.
