Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade is a platforming action/adventure game based on the popular movie of the same name. Oddly enough, there were two different versions of this game released on the NES; one developed by Software Creations and published by Taito and this one developed by NMS Software and published by UBI Soft. This version was released after the Taito version.
The player takes the role of Indiana Jones who must collect ancient artifacts and save his father's diary. The animation for this game was extraordinary for its time, as Indiana's movement looks realistic. The bad thing about this game was that there was barely any color, the hit detection was horrible and the bosses would take an eternity to kill and you only get the whip and the pistol as the only weapons in the game. This game is also one of the rarest game titles on the NES. The player must go around the level and collect certain items before they can leave. In level 1, Indy must find the holy cross. In level 2, he must collect his whip. In level 3, he is searching for 5 pieces of his father's diary. In level 4, he is looking for 3 pieces of the tablet, and in level 5, he must escape an airplane, and in the final level he must choose the right holy grail or the player will suffer one of the worst punishments in video game history; should the player choose the wrong holy grail, they are taken back all the way to the beginning of the game. Thankfully, the game offers a password system so that players can continue on the level where they left off.

Music
For the NES, you would have expected better music. The good thing about the music is that the in-game song, the song you'll hear throughout the whole entire game is the Indiana Jones theme, a longer version of it. Mark Cooksey did a good job arranging the Indiana Jones theme to 8-bit, considering he had to learn it by ear and then sequence the music. The music was arranged in Notator on the Atari ST. The drums on the Indiana Jones them go off sync with the music because they were sequenced with a MIDI keyboard and no musician can keep 100% accurate timing. There is also an unused song in the game, which was used in the later Game Boy version as a boss theme. The only bad thing about the music is that there are only 3 songs in the entire game, 2 really because of the unused song.

Ripping NES music is a very arduous process that is beyond the scope of this site.
