Iguana Entertainment was an American game developer, initially known for making many sports-based video games. They later refocused themselves as a developer of first-person shooter games, with their most famous creation being the Turok series. In 1995 they were purchased by Acclaim, and rebranded as Acclaim Studios Austin in 1999, before going bankrupt with the rest of the company in 2004.
In 1993, the company purchased Optimus Software, and rebranded to Iguana UK, which later became Acclaim Studios Teeside in 1999.
Some staff founded and/or moved to Edge of Reality, Retro Studios and Atomic Planet Entertainment, among others.

Music Development
Nintendo 64
Iguana's UK division created their own Nintendo 64 sound driver, which was programmed by Anthony Palumba and Brian Watson, and used for all the company's subsequent games for the system.
Later, this sound driver was used by divisions of Acclaim.
On late games, the audio files were compressed using the RNC method, while audio files for Forsaken 64 were compressed using the RNX method.
Iggy's Reckin' Balls seems to be use unique sound driver.
Sega Genesis
The composers at Iguana used GEMS.
Sega Game Gear
On NBA Jam, audio was outsourced to Spidersoft. David Lowe converted his music files to unique sound driver.
NBA Jam Tournament Edition uses early Codemasters' sound driver, which possibly programmed by Lyndon Sharp.
SNES
The composers at Iguana used SLICK/Audio from Bitmasters.
