Hirokazu Ando is a Japanese composer and sound designer known for his impressive soundtracks at HAL Laboratory. He joined HAL around 1991, shortly after Jun Ishikawa started working there and around when Hideki Kanazashi left, and his first contribution to the company was for their game Hyper Zone. He worked with Jun on a vast majority of the Kirby series, as well as other games. His most significant contribution to the Kirby series is his song Green Greens, which he wrote on a keyboard recorder. He also worked with other HAL composers like Tadashi Ikegami and Shogo Sakai. He is known for his fast-paced music, in which his colleagues joke that the older he gets, the faster his music is. In addition, Ando has employed the service of his pet chicken Nago for sound effects for some of the games he's worked on.
Most recently, he has taken the lead in HAL Laboratory's sound department for games like Kirby Star Allies and Kirby Fighters 2.
He plays the electric organ, bass guitar and ukulele.

Ando most likely used Music Maker, in which the music was written in MML in textual form. The data was then converted to a sound driver by Hiroaki Suga.
SNES
Ando used several different custom versions of Nintendo's Kankichi-kun sound engine and software. He likely wrote in a custom MML on a Sony NEWS.
