Highlander is an action game loosely based on the movie of the same name. The Amstrad CPC port is based on the original Commodore 64 release.

Music
The game features only a single song, A Kind of Magic. Although it wasn't featured in Highlander, some of the lyrics are heard, and it was heard in Highlander II: The Quickening and the TV series too. The music is of lower fidelity than the original Commodore version.
The song plays a quarter step sharp from the original recording, but all in all is a decent arrangement. The music was very likely to have been written in machine code.

The alias of "Crwth" is currently unknown. We contacted Antony Crowther, but he denied working on the game, as he never programmed for the Amstrad CPC. A developer at Ocean has speculated that it could have been Fred Gray. We contacted Fred Gray, who said it wasn't him.
Game Rip
The game's music was logged to YM format using WinAPE, however a proper AY rip should be made. The recording was made by converting the YM to WAV and then to OGG.
Ripping of Amstrad CPC music is very arduous process so it's beyond the scope of this site.
Audio Devices
The game use AY-3-8912 chip for music, though it doesn't take advantage of the chips full capacity.
