Emerson, Lake & Palmer (sometimes self-spelled without comma) were a progressive rock supergroup formed in 1970 in London and being one of the most popular progressive rock bands in 1970s. They consisted of keyboardist Keith Emerson, vocalist, bassist, guitarist and songwriter Greg Lake and drummer Carl Palmer. The group is usually referred as one of the first supergroups, because Emerson found his popularity before ELP while consisting in The Nice, Lake - in King Krimson, and Palmer - in Atomic Rooster and Crazy World of Arthur Brown.
