Craig Utterback is an American composer and sound designer. In 1974, he attended Alvin College for Computer Systems & Electronic Technology and left a year later. From 1978 to 1986, he attended the Orange Coast College for Music Theory and Computer Science.

His first foray into video games started in August 1990, when he worked at Synergistic Software. While working there, he usually worked alongside Chris Barker. As a result, he usually worked more on sound design than music composition. He stayed with Synergistic when they were acquired by Sierra On-Line, and then left at the end of 2001.

Craig currently works at TCS Memorial Sound Abuse Clinic & Mental Health Spa. They specialize in audio for computer games, as well as design and repair instruments and amplifiers.
