Clever & Smart is an arcade adventure based on the Spanish comic series Mortadelo y Filemón. The comics were so popular in Germany that a German publisher had the blessing to design this first video game. It was not well thought out, as all localizations kept the German title and character names. The gameplay got a bit of a cult following due to the original and worthy gimmicks, and the completely obscure aim.
Despite its pale coloring, and screens being flipped rather than scrolled, the CPC version plays well. The English translations are almost flawless, and the enemy car gives you a little head start. It tends to be confusing which protagonist you control, as the game automatically switches to the one nearer to the direction you want.

Music
The only music plays to the title screen. The instruments are harsh, but the in-game sound effects are traceable and helpful. Even inside a shop, you hear a bomb exploding outside.
