Platform: Commodore 64
Year: 1988
Developer: Capcom Co., Ltd., Software Creations, Ltd.
For other games in the series see Bionic Commando.

Bionic Commando was ported to the Commodore 64 by two different companies, one in North America and this one for Europe. The PAL version in Europe is superior to the USA version with better music, controls, and an overall more accurate portrayal of the original arcade game. As with the arcade game, you play Super Joe, a soldier with a bionic arm who must shoot and swing his way through five highly dangerous stages. The game is incredibly difficult, and the low-resolution graphics of the Commodore 64 don't make it any easier.

Most of the music is just a rearrangement of the original arcade music, although Tim Follin infused a bit of his own flair into the tracks. However, the loader and ending themes were composed especially for this game.

It seems that Tim Follin used that exact arrangement as the base for later Amiga, Atari ST and ZX Spectrum 128 ports. While all his arrangements in these games sound quite the same, only Follin's Commodore 64 version has unique music from him, Power Plant tune absent in the other three ports. Also two of the tracks contain parts that don't appear in other ports (particularly The Forest's 1:20-1:37 part and Bionic Commando Theme's 1:08-1:12 segment)
