BEMANI is the name given to Konami's extensive line of rhythm game series, spanning across 10 lesser series and a number of other discontinued games and series as of February 2015.

The "BEMANI" line was originally called the Games & Music Division, or G.M.D., as it is technically a division of Konami, but it changed its name to the current name in honor of the success of beatmania (ARC).

Notable Songs

beatmania/beatmania IIDX

  • 20,november from beatmania (ARC) - Known by many as the "Theme of BEMANI", it remains iconic for being one of the first songs in the series, let alone being one of the first two songs by an in-house composer in the series, despite being cut from every series it has been in.
  • Mei from beatmania IIDX 12 HAPPY SKY (ARC) - Considered one of the hardest songs in the series ever since its release, with its Singles and Doubles ANOTHER charts also being the first charts in the series to pass a note count of 2000. It took players two years to get a max grade of AAA on the SPA chart, and eight years for the chart to be full combo'd on an arcade machine. It also is the last song to be played in the Kaiden course of the game, the highest level course that one can play. Its use in the Kaiden course has led the piano section at the end to be called the "Winning Run" by fans.
  • MENDES from beatmania IIDX 15 DJ TROOPERS (ARC) - While not currently playable on the arcade releases, the Black ANOTHER chart for this song featured in beatmania IIDX 16 EMPRESS + PREMIUM BEST (PS2) has the highest note count in the game, with a whopping count of 2626. This is over 200 notes higher than the second highest note count for a non-long chart in the game, a count held by Verflucht's LEGGENDARIA chart.
