BEMANI is the name given to Konami's extensive line of rhythm game series, spanning across 10 lesser series and a number of other discontinued games and series as of February 2015.
The "BEMANI" line was originally called the Games & Music Division, or G.M.D., as it is technically a division of Konami, but it changed its name to the current name in honor of the success of beatmania (ARC).

Notable Songs
beatmania/beatmania IIDX
- 20,november from beatmania (ARC) - Known by many as the "Theme of BEMANI", it remains iconic for being one of the first songs in the series, let alone being one of the first two songs by an in-house composer in the series, despite being cut from every series it has been in.
- Mei from beatmania IIDX 12 HAPPY SKY (ARC) - Considered one of the hardest songs in the series ever since its release, with its Singles and Doubles ANOTHER charts also being the first charts in the series to pass a note count of 2000. It took players two years to get a max grade of AAA on the SPA chart, and eight years for the chart to be full combo'd on an arcade machine. It also is the last song to be played in the Kaiden course of the game, the highest level course that one can play. Its use in the Kaiden course has led the piano section at the end to be called the "Winning Run" by fans.
- MENDES from beatmania IIDX 15 DJ TROOPERS (ARC) - While not currently playable on the arcade releases, the Black ANOTHER chart for this song featured in beatmania IIDX 16 EMPRESS + PREMIUM BEST (PS2) has the highest note count in the game, with a whopping count of 2626. This is over 200 notes higher than the second highest note count for a non-long chart in the game, a count held by Verflucht's LEGGENDARIA chart.
GITADORA
- DAY DREAM from Guitarfreaks 4thMIX & drummania 3rdMIX (ARC) - First song in the long-running "MODEL DD" series of songs, and its MASTER charts remain among the hardest of charts in the series. Received a new background video in Guitarfreaks 8thMIX & drummania 7thMIX (ARC) that is iconic for the rainbow-colored spinning heads that are featured in it.
jubeat
- FLOWER from jubeat knit APPEND (ARC) - Well known for being in more games than any other song in the series, only because of the fact that it exists in four other rhythm game series outside of BEMANI: Groove Coaster, Taiko no Tatsujin, maimai, and CHUNITHM.
- Evans from jubeat (ARC) - First true boss song in the series, and it remains one of the hardest EXTREME charts in the game to this day.
- AIR RAID FROM THA UNDAGROUND from jubeat ripples APPEND (ARC) - EXTREME chart had the highest note count for any chart in the game from its release up until Astraia no Soubei and Beastie Starter's release in jubeat saucer (ARC) over two years later. Remains one of the most brutal charts in the game along with other songs by Akira Uchibori: the aforementioned Beastie Starter and Stand Alone Beat Masta.
- JOMANDA from jubeat copious APPEND (ARC) - Features two patterns known as the "Yoshitaka Tornado", a pattern circling the entire playing panel very quickly that was previously used in FLOWER, and the "Yoshitaka Cross", a cross pattern using the second row and third column, in its jubeat EXTREME chart, which remains one of the most well-known patterns in the series for destroying sight-reads of the chart and being the first chart to truly push memorization skills in combination with a 90 BPM to 300 BPM speedup in the middle.
pop'n music
- Rin to Shite Saku Hana no Gotoku from pop'n music 15 ADVENTURE (ARC) - The first non-crossover event song to exist on every current BEMANI game. It remains very popular even outside of the BEMANI fan base.
REFLEC BEAT
- HAERETICUS from beatmania IIDX 19 Lincle (ARC) and REFLEC BEAT limelight (ARC) - Final unlockable song from the Lincle Link event with IIDX, and considered one of the most difficult songs in the game on all three difficulties. First song to associate Tatsuya Iyama's "MAX MAXIMIZER" alias with the hardest songs in the game, a trend continued with STULTI and CLAMARE.
- Bad Maniacs from beatmania IIDX 17 SIRIUS (ARC) - Despite not being originally from REFLEC BEAT, Bad Maniacs was one of the first crossovers to the series, and received a new SPECIAL chart in REFLEC BEAT groovin'!! (ARC) that became the first chart in the series to surpass a note count of 1000.
