Bad is a song written and composed by American recording artist Michael Jackson, and co-produced by Quincy Jones.
The song premiered on Jackson's album also named Bad, then as a short film in the television special Michael Jackson: The Magic Returns on CBS during prime time, both on August 31, 1987, and as the second single on September 7.
Composition
Jackson stated that the song was influenced by a real life story he had read about, of a young man who tried to escape poverty by attending a private school but ended up being murdered when he returned home.
