Baby's Day Out is an action-puzzle game developed by Designer Software and published by Hi Tech Entertainment. It is based on the John Hughes film of the same name. The game was cancelled before its release.
The game is very loosely based on the events of the movie; only the locations are used. A group of thugs have kidnapped baby Bink, and he must escape their clutches. To do this, he is helped by an angel-like character controlled by the player. This angel was not present in the movie. The player must use the angel to safely guide Bink to the flag in each level to clear the stage. To do this, the angel must move several things, collect keys, and defeat enemies, most of which were not even present in the movie. To do these tasks, the angel must take possession of certain items like shoes (to get past certain areas) and a gun (to shoot enemies with). There are six worlds consisting of five stages each, so there are thirty stages in all. As mentioned before, the game takes place in the main locations from the movie; the Hideout, the Rooftop, the Department Store, the Zoo, the City Park, and finally, the Construction site. Before each "world" starts, a still image from Bink's book is seen showing the areas where he will be travelling to next.
The player does not have a lives meter, in which case a game over is not possible; The stage simply starts from the beginning. The game also has a password system so the player can continue from where they left off.
On September 9th, 2020, the ROM was made available from the Nintendo gigaleak under the file name DMGABYE0.

Music
Baby's Day Out features a soundtrack by Designer Software founder Bill Bogenreif. None of the music is particularly memorable, nor is it from the movie, but it fits the action of the game well enough. Each world has its own theme. The musical style is mostly orchestral, and while some songs are a little harder in terms of style, none of it would really classify as "rock", except perhaps for the title screen music. The Sega Genesis version also uses the same soundtrack.
