Atsuhiro Motoyama is a Japanese composer and sound designer. He worked for Dual originally, under their Klon title. He later moved on to composing music for companies such as Eighting and Rising. He eventually moved to Best Score Inc. He has been working as a freelance artist for over 20 years.
Motoyama is perhaps known for his complex musical styles, being able to compose cute-sounding music like in Umihara Kawase and Kururin, as well as fast-paced rock tunes like in the Magical Operation games.
His best known soundtrack is probably Serpent for the Game Boy.
Audio Development
Game Boy
Motoyama used a sound driver by Junichi Saito. The music was written in a custom MML using hexadecimal numbers for notation.
Game Boy Advance
Motoyama used Nintendo's MP2K sound engine.
