Alone in the Dark in Japanese (暗闇の中で一人で - Kurayaminonakade hitori de) is a port of the DOS version, is the second Surival horror for the 3DO, licensed by Infogrames Dev., developed by Krisalis Software and published by Interplay Productions in America and Europe, Pony Canyon in Japan, in 1994 exclusively.
It tells the same story as the 3DO version, only that thanks to the use of the CD it was possible to add voices and music from the DOS-CD version, this was the first port for this console by Interplay and Infogrames, this engine would be used for another game that would only be modified.
Its music is based on the port for Windows 32 (CD format) released after Windows 3.1, the port suffered a drop in sound quality due to compression although the 3DO could handle the original music.
This had to cut the resolution down, it is not known why, everything was lowered in detail, quality, modified 3D modeling and among others that made the game appear with rendering problems but the speed was improved thanks to the ARM hardware of the machine.
Its reception was very good but because the console was not very sold, but it remained as an exclusive, but it did not happen with the second installment which came out on Sega Saturn and PlayStation.
The game was originally released for MS-DOS in 1992, and it was later ported to various platforms, including the 3DO, in 1994.
The game was known for its use of pre-rendered 3D backgrounds, which created a unique visual style for the time. The characters and creatures were rendered in 3D and placed on these backgrounds, creating a sense of depth and immersion.
The 3DO version of "Alone in the Dark" is a port of the original game with some adaptations to suit the 3DO hardware. It retained the core gameplay and story of the original, but the graphics were adjusted to accommodate the capabilities of the 3DO console.

Philippe Vachey He is the original composer of the Alone in the Dark Soundtrack that was in VGM Format, Later Alone in the Dark would be Relaunched in CD Format, thus improving the Soundtrack and Integrating more Audio Tracks.
Far ahead, a port would be made for the 3DO Console and with this it would be used thanks to Interplay. The Soundtrack was used again in a byte-encoded format (SAMP) used by Infogames and Interplay.
Since the AIFF/SAMP format would be used only for the Voices. The music in "Alone in the Dark" plays an essential role in building tension and atmosphere. While the 3DO version of the game does not have a traditional background music soundtrack that plays continuously, it features dynamic music that triggers during specific moments, such as encounters with enemies or during intense scenes.
