Akira Satō is a Japanese composer and sound designer. Little is known about him besides the companies he worked for. He started out at Seibu Kaihatsu around 1986, scoring the music and sound effects to many of their arcade games. Among these titles included Dynamite Duke and Raiden, the latter of which remains his best known work.

Around 1990, Satō left Seibu Kaihatsu around 1992 to work for TOSE, with his best known work there being Yoshi's Cookie. Around the same time he was perhaps most prolific as the representative director of MUSE, scoring and supervising the music for many games by IDES and later Stone Heads. He appears to have left the game industry around 2001.
