Adventure Math Deluxe (DOS)

|
Adventure Math Deluxe is the rare sequel to Adventure Math (DOS).
You can now also choose multiplication, division, activate a timer, and enjoy two new backgrounds, new music, and new speech. The timer is as fast as your PC and declares your answer wrong when it runs out. Awkwardly, most factors, divisors and quotients are zero or one.

Music
Depending on your audio setup, the soundtrack from Adventure Math (DOS) has been expanded:
- For the Adlib Card, the original composer delivered quiz tracks 4–5 and arcade tracks 11–12. Along with tracks 3 and 10, they are chosen randomly every game.
- The Sound Blaster narrator learned five more responses to correct answers and six more to wrong ones. Again, the response is chosen purely at random, so you may be told "not even close" even if your answer is close.
- On Sound (PC Speaker), nothing changed.
Recording
The old recordings were taken from Adventure Math (DOS). Altogether, all songs were recorded from the game on a Pentium 60 MHz with:
- a Sound Blaster 16 CT1740 plugged in. The looping songs were played once or twice (depending on their length) plus 10 seconds.
- a microphone standing in front of its PC speaker. The unused songs were played by modifying AMATH.EXE.
The VGMPF currently titles these songs after their filenames or usage.

Unless you enter /NOSB or /NOADLIB, the game searches for an OPL at port 388hex, and a Sound Blaster at ports 210hex, 220hex, 230hex, 240hex, 250hex, 260hex, DMA 1, and IRQ 2, 3, 5 or 7.
On the setup, you can turn everything off, but not on again.
If you leave any card on, all PC Speaker audio is turned off without notice.
