A-Type (V1.0) played in the V1.0 version of Tetris for the Game Boy, but later replaced with an 8-bit arrangement of Korobeiniki. The song is a 3/4 ballad in the key of D major. It plays at the same tempo and length as its replacement, Korobeiniki. The song has been unofficially dubbed by fans "Minuet".
The chord progression is as follows; D Em A7 D A7. The lead instrument plays the same phrase twice throughout, but with different endings. On the second time, the lead instrument is quieter during the first half.
The song was written by Hirokazu Tanaka in Z80 assembly using his sound driver. Hirokazu should be contacted for an official title.
