4x4 Off-Road Racing is an off-road truck racing game. You choose in which track you want to race, like a Death Valley desert, Georgia mud, or Michigan in the winter. Depending on the race location you'll want to pick different 4x4s, and customize them with various options like a camper for more cargo space, a bigger gas tanks, and a winch for getting out of muddy pits. Next, you choose between the various tires, spare parts, and fluids to take with you.
Once you've finished customizing your truck, the race begins. The roads are highly hazardous and littered with dangerous obstacles like logs, boulders, and cow skulls that will damage your truck and send it flying comically through the air. As you speed through the race you'll pass other drivers before finally reaching the end.
The Commodore 64 version was the original release of the game.

Music
The game begins with the 4x4 Off-Road Racing Theme which features a sturdy bass line, a synth melody, and the occasional whistle. This is the original version of the song which was ported to various other platforms. If you smash your truck into a large obstacle, it will explode and you'll hear a basic version of Taps.
