Tamayo Kawamoto is a Japanese music composer and sound designer. She began her video game music career as one of the original composers at Capcom in 1984. As a result, she was one of their first composers along with Harumi Fujita and Ayako Mori. In addition, she was a part of Capcom's in-house band Alph Lyla.

In the fall of 1989, Kawamoto met Yoshihiro Ohno who asked if she wanted to meet members of Taito's sound team Zuntata. After meeting Zuntata, she decided to leave Capcom and join Taito herself, Kawamoto eventually left Taito in 2005, she is currently in a band called Betta Flash.

Tamayo had to enter the music in a custom music macro language, using hexadecimal numbers for notation. The sound drivers were by Capcom's sound producer Yoshihiro Sakaguchi.
