Yukio Kaneoka is a Japanese electronic engineer and sound designer. From as early as 1981, Kaneoka worked for Nintendo as a sound designer, composer, and programmer. He worked on a lot of their earliest arcade and home console games, but his last known credit for new work was as part of the staff of F-Zero released in 1990. Probably Kaneoka's biggest claim to fame was designing the RP2A03's APU for the Famicom / NES, and later its counterpart in the Famicom Disk System's RP2C33 controller. In addition, he created Nintendo's sound driver Kankichi-kun.
His last known credit was as a supervisor for 2008’s Super Smash Bros. Brawl, so it is unlikely that he still works at Nintendo.
