Wordtris is a letter-based puzzle game. The player must spell words with blocks with a letter on them. The more characters in a letter, the better their score. You can spell words horizontally or vertically. The game also made it's way on the Game Boy, Macintosh, and MS-DOS. Unfortunately, this version of the game does not allow you to insert words into the dictionary. The background graphics in this game were taken from Super Tetris (DOS).

Music

Wordtris contains very nice orchestral and rock songs. This was the only version of Wordtris to feature new original music by Paul Mogg. While Paul worked on the other versions of the game, he only made the game's sound effects. The game's music is considered by many to be one of the most underrated SNES soundtracks. Some have even said that they only played the game just to hear the music.

Level D seems to sound very similar to The Police's Every Breath You Take. Paul may have been a fan of The Police at the time he was working on this game's soundtrack.

To create the soundtrack for Wordtris, Paul composed MIDI files in Studio Vision Pro, in which David Warhol arranged the songs and converted them to his sound driver. According to Warhol, he used instrument samples from different SNES games for his sound driver.
