Vectorman is a shooter video game mixed with complex action platforming, being developed by BlueSky Software and published by Sega (America, Europe and Australia), Tec Toy in Brazil in 1995 near the end of the Genesis life cycle in America.

Its story begins: Earth's human population begins a migratory journey in 2049 in an effort to colonize other planets. They leave behind mechanical orbots to fix the mess they created on Earth through pollution and garbage. When a minor orbot inadvertently connects Raster, a high-level orbot that monitors Earth through a planetary computer network, to a functional nuclear missile, Raster loses control and becomes the evil ruler Warhead. He formally establishes himself as the ruler of Earth and begins making plans to kill anyone who dares to visit his planet again.

Here comes Vectorman, an unassuming orbot charged with eliminating toxic sludge by simply throwing it into the sun. After his last trip, he returns to Earth to find chaos and confusion. Vectorman decides to take action to eliminate the misbehaving orbot and bring peace to Earth because Warhead controls all the other Orbots (Vectorman was not affected because he was away).

The game had one of the simplest controls of all the Genesis catalog, had beautiful graphics which gave war to the Sega hardware which led to the console could not run the game at a non-constant frame rate, which were 3D prerendered type, was compatible with the Sega Genesis 6th Buttons Pad, its soundtrack was very incredible, fluid animations and level design very curious.

Vectorman, critically acclaimed and financially successful, was re-released in North America as part of the Mega Hit series. The gameplay, level design, 3D graphics and fantastic techno soundtrack received high praise.

This game went down in the history of the Genesis as a cult title for the general public, which led to its re-release on Android, iOS/iPad, Microsoft Windows, MacOS, Wii and exclusively on Steam for Linux.

Jon Holland is the character who gave life to the game in sound and sounds for the game which would be very important until the second game of this exclusive saga of Sega and the 16-bit generation.

The music was made from Chip-tune system with characteristic type genre Techno, electronic and glued with futuristic mixer, characteristic that would adopt other games of the console as Contra: Hard Corps (GEN) or Trouble Shooter (GEN) which are very important in the course of the life of the Genesis.

This music is very catchy when we listen to the melodies powered by the YM2612 Yamaha YM2612 which sounded very exquisite to the ear.

The soundtrack is made up of 15 tracks which will be divided into 16 levels or as the game tells us for 16 Days clearly will have a time limit assigned by the game which makes it very regimented for the gamer.

Jon Holland, musician and director, had relatively little experience in creating a video game soundtrack when he wrote the music. Holland intended to give the music an electronic sound that was "rhythmic" and almost "danceable," but lamented the difficulty of achieving the sound he wanted with the Genesis sound chip.

The resulting soundtrack was characterized as slower and more melancholy than most 16-bit platform games. The game's soundtrack, which included arrangements of songs originally intended by Holland but with better sound quality, was released a year after the game's initial release under the name Sega Tunes: Vectorman CD.
