Tiles of Fate is a puzzle game developed by Taiwanese game company C&E, Inc. This is the first game of the company. The player must clear out Mahjong-like boards in order to progress through the game. The game also gives a history lesson about Chinese dynasties taking over one another. The game was released in Taiwan by C&E and Idea-Tek, in USA by American Video Entertainment and Japan by Hacker International. The Japanese version is the only one that's different from the others for the storyline.

Music

The game features pretty nice music. Levels 1, 2, and 3 of each world have their own theme but can get very annoying since they're short tunes. There's also some things they couldn't get right with the music. For example, the bass in the level 2 theme goes out of sync by an eighth note. The USA and Taiwanese version of the game credit B.H Ting for the music, who has been revealed as Ding Bohao. The Japanese version of the game lacks credits, probably because the developers didn't want Japanese players to know that a Taiwanese company developed it. Kossel Huang, another composer who worked for C&E said the founder of the company Guo Qiyong created the sound driver. According to Kossel, music was made by creating MIDI-like files which were then given Guo to convert into the game.

The Japanese version has a different soundtrack. The USA/Taiwanese soundtrack starts with a 1 and the Japanese soundtrack starts with a 2.
