The Legend of Kyrandia: Book One is an adventure game in Westwood's Fables & Fiends series which started and ended with this game trilogy. Malcom the Jester has escaped and killed the royal family, taking control of the source of all magic in the land. It is up to Brandon and his wits to save Kyrandia and its people.
The Legend of Kyrandia features a point-and-click interface and an inventory system. It also differs from games like The Secret of Monkey Island and the King's Quest series in that there is no verb menu, allowing for a simpler user interface.

This is the AdLib recording of the music. The titles are based on where the songs appear in the game, except for Speech of the Woods, Brandon's Home, Cavern, and Timbermist Woods, which were named by the composer.

The Legend of Kyrandia has three versions of its soundtrack. All of the music files are located in the root install folder. The XMI files are used for Roland MT-32 / LAPC-I devices, the ADL files are used for the AdLib and Sound Blaster devices, and the SND (Westwood) files are used for the PC speaker device. It is unknown which music is used for the Tandy 3 Voice device, probably the SND files. The AdLib soundtrack was recorded with RdosPlay, but the other outputs have yet to be recorded.

Legend of Kyrandia forced you to use the same device for both music and sound. So even if you had a Sound Blaster and a Roland MT-32, you couldn't utilize them to their full potential.
